It’s the season of LENT in the Christian Year—a forty-day period of time (not counting Sundays). It’s a traditional time for self-examination and discipline—choosing to become more like Jesus.
Holy Week is the final week in LENT. This year it is April 9th thru the 14th. It begins remembering Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem—known as Palm/Passion Sunday. Holy Thursday, also known as Maunday Thursday, is a day to remember the events that took place during a Passover Meal with Jesus and the disciples in an Upper Room, somewhere in Jerusalem. It’s here where Jesus initiated what Christians call the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Good Friday marks the crucifixion of Jesus.
Easter Day is April 16th this year. Easter Day is the holiest day in the Christian Year, Resurrection Day, an Eighth Day in Creation because all things are made new through faith in Jesus Christ who is alive!
Prepare for a new Easter Day through our small, LIFE GROUPS who are studying the biblical records and events of “Jesus’ Last Days in Jerusalem.” Contact the Church Office for information on these small group meeting days and times.
